SSI – Sports for Social Impact recognizes the power and contribution of sports and physical activity as tools for empowering and improving people’s quality of life; establishing equal opportunities and removing barriers for disadvantaged and excluded groups; and creating a dialogue and sense of partnership between various groups in Israeli society.

The Foundation assists and empowers diverse populations in society by supporting a wide range of organizations, while focusing on a number of areas: education, community and welfare, research and medicine, architecture, the environment, art, music, and culture, promotion of people with disabilities, Jewish education, Israel studies, and commemorating the memory of the Holocaust.
In addition to granting donations, the Foundation operates a number of unique programs, including the “Azrieli Fellows” program which promotes academic excellence by awarding scholarships for advanced degrees; the Azrieli Center for Architecture; the Foundation’s new program “Sports for Social Impact” (SSI), which aims to develop and promote sports and exercise programs as a tool for fostering a more tolerant and equal society in Israel; as well as a number of other programs.
